Asia evokes images of saffron-robed Buddhist monks, golden temples and idyllic islands.  It is all about the sights, colours, smells and the people.   Often described as a land of mystery, splendid beauty and intriguing contrasts between ultra-modern and the ageless.

So many wonderful destinations are inside the continent of Asia; Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, The Philippines, India, Borneo, Vietnam, Cambodia, Myanmar (Burma), Laos, Singapore, Hong Kong, Bangkok, China, Japan and Macca.  All beautiful in their own right

On a Thailand holidays, you’ll find chic designer beach hotels, sumptuous spa resorts and luxurious villas. Cambodia and Vietnam is much more of a cultural explosion full of history and is likened to visiting times gone past. Retrace history at the gigantic temple of Angkor Wat in Cambodia, with its grand towers shaped like lotus buds. In Laos, rice paddy fields are hidden behind Vientiane’s tree-lined avenues, and laid-back Luang Prabang has streets filled with temples and French mansions. Further east, you can enjoy many fascinating parts of Japan, with cities such as Tokyo, Hiroshima and Kyoto, you could even take a ride on the worldfamous Bullet Train, or proving more and more popular the Cherry Blossom, a place where ancient traditions seamlessly fuse with modern life.  Finally, in Japan the Shiretoko Peninsula for the stunning world heritage UNESCO world heritage Fjords.

In China, see the Terracotta Army, Great Wall and Yangtze River. These are destinations that are made for touring, to ensure you don’t miss anything

Singapore is the place for shopping, with over 200 malls, and you can enjoy the famous afternoon tea or even a Singapore Sling at Raffles Hotel.  Malaysia is fascinating, from neck craning skyscrapers in Kuala Lumpur to charming orang-utans in Borneo. Or head to Indonesia and the beautiful beaches and a thriving art scene in Bali.

The Tropic of Cancer runs through India and is the accepted division between north and south. India is such a truly awesome destination where the senses come alive and the people and their land in quite something.  There are laid-back beaches in Goa and Kerala; tigers and the Taj Mahal; forts and palaces; bustling cities and humbling temples; tranquil backwaters and cool hill stations. Aiming higher, you can visit Nepal for Kathmandu and Tibet, or Bhutan for majestic mountains and unique local architecture.
