Western Norway has some of the longest, deepest, narrowest and most beautiful fjords in the world.  Taking a trip here really does ensure that you have breath-taking views around every corner. UNESCO has included the fjords of Fjord Norway, validated by the likes of Geirangerfjord and the Nærøyfjord, on its prestigious World Heritage List.  The fjords are often described as “nature’s own work of art”, created when the glaciers retreated and sea water flooded the U-shaped valleys.  A cruise really is the best way to see this stunning part of the world, but be sure to ensure you visit the best ports of call.  The Norwegian fjords enjoy a mild climate and remain virtually ice-free. 1. Flam is one of the ports of call not too be missed. Take a ride on the Flåm railway, it really is one of Norway’s unmissable highlights. They have an average fall of around 250 meters and are an impressive sight when the water levels are high.
3. Bergen is a super town, again no need for an excursion here, simply enjoy walking around the town with its quirky coloured shops and cafes. Try and visit the Fish Market .. quite something and a colourful delight
4. The Fjords is the perfect place for kayaking. Enjoy the stillness and the beauty of the rivers and lakes. With stunning coastal areas, here you will find some of the best rivers for river kayaking, the region offers adventures for paddlers at all levels.
